When we speak, we not only use our voice but our whole body. The workshop offers the possibility to explore the role of gestures and other bodily movements in communication and shows how and why our body shapes communication. Through video analyses in combination with exercises for the voice and the body, the workshop sharpens the participants observation for these aspects and provides the basis for a better understanding of communication. Workshop content: Why and how do we „speak“ with our hands? How do I use my body while speaking? How do I act in talks, lectures, and conversations?

Digitization is changing day-to-day research practices across all fields of academic inquiry. Research data of every kind are collected, processed, analyzed, published and archived in digital systems. The term Research Data Management (RDM), refers to a range of activities and topics relating to the handling of digital research data.
Topics of the course: Introduction to the Microscopy Core Facility, Principles of Light Microscopy (Properties of light, Optical Elements of microscopes, Imaging with microscopes, Confocal microscopy, Advanced microscopy techiques (FLIM and FCS)), Quantitative Image Analysis
We want to enable you to analyse your ChIP-Seq (and CUT&Tag and ATAC-Seq) data on your own. This course guides you step by step from fastq files to the final figures. It covers everything from quality control to alignments to count matrix generation and differential analysis. No previous knowledge of R or Unix is necessary as we have introduction videos and exercises for both. The course was created to fit into your busy schedules and consists of short explanatory videos, questions and exercises that you can do whenever and where ever you have time. Please block about 1-2 h per week for the course. After each module, a live Q&A (~1h) will allow you to ask all your questions and discuss exercises. The first module is going to start on the 5th of October, 2022. (As it is a combination of videos, exercises and live Q&A, it is no problem at all if you are on holidays or conferences in between ;))
The two-day introductory workshop teaches the basics of digital image processing and analysis for biological/biomedical studies. the goal of the workshop is that participants acquire basic knowledge and technique for measuring using image data.
